J5 EP – Jurassic 5

J5’s debut EP was re-released with a few extra tracks and instrumentals as the J5 LP. Visually the cover art is similar, but I prefer the colours of the EP. The denim background and comic book graphics really make this one stand out. The four Jurassic 5 ‘word arts’ look like the Bat Signal, and the J5 logo is distinctly Superman-esque. In the face of the onslaught of gangster rap and Puff Daddy’s pop-rap, J5’s change of pace and style was pretty heroic.
